Bruce Molsky, “one of America’s premier fiddling talents” (Mother Jones) and a Grammy-nominated artist on fiddle, banjo, and guitar, is delighted to present his group, Molsky’s Mountain Drifters, a trio with banjo virtuoso Allison de Groot and guitarist Stash Wyslouch. Molsky is known for his ability to dig deep and transport audiences with his authentic feel for Southern Appalachian music. He has collaborated with Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny, Joan Osborne, and Jerry Douglas. Molsky is also Berklee College of Music’s Visiting Scholar in the American Roots Program.
Allison de Groot (The Goodbye Girls) is known for her great clawhammer technique, exquisite tone, timing, and taste. She has deep roots in the old time tradition and yet she’s fearless when it comes to breaking new ground. Guitarist Stash Wyslouch (The Deadly Gentlemen) is a true genre bender, a high-energy performer who cut his teeth in punk and metal bands before immersing himself in roots music. Stash brings great sensitivity and real emotion to the trio, plus superb guitar and vocal chops.
