“John McCutcheon is not only one of the best musicians in the USA, but also a great singer, songwriter, and song leader. And not just incidentally, he is committed to helping hard-working people everywhere to organize and push this world in a better direction.” — Pete Seeger
John McCutcheon has been singing his songs of the nation’s heritage for more than 35 years, at The Palms Playhouse and around the world. Above all, he’s a righteously passionate and impishly playful everyman, deftly switching between instruments – including guitar, banjo, hammer dulcimer, fiddle, piano and autoharp.
McCutcheon’s gifts as a songwriter, historian, musician and storyteller have won him such praise as “one of the best loved performing musicians in the country (Marshfield News-Herald),” “the most versatile and compelling performer this reviewer has ever seen (Pravda, Moscow, Russia),” and from Johnny Cash as “the most impressive instrumentalist I’ve ever heard.”
