“The Commander is stronger than ever—his floor-stomping mix of country, swing, and rockabilly can shake the rafters of any bar or club.”—Hittin’ the Note

Look in any book on the history of rock ‘n’ roll and you will find Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. The band’s founder and leader, George Frayne, helped invent a whole new style of music during the early 1970s, a period regarded as the height of rock innovation.

Ever since his wild, early days as front man for the Lost Planet Airmen, Commander Cody has been a truly unique and iconoclastic figure. His special blend of old-time rock ‘n’ roll, redneck country, boogie-woogie, western swing, and psychedelia virtually defined American roots music.

Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen are known for their song “Hot Rod Lincoln.” Their album “Live From Deep In The Heart of Texas,” was named one of Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Albums of All Time.

Today the Commander Cody Band features Mark Emerick on guitar, Steve Barbuto on drums, Chris Olsen on pedal steel, and Randy Bramwell on bass. Cody is still trying to pound his piano into submission. And they all sing.
