Jimmy Breaux is acknowledged to be one of the best Cajun accordionists of the modern era. The accordion player for the Grammy Award-winning group BeauSoleil, Breaux comes from a Louisiana musical dynasty. Since retiring from BeauSoleil, Breaux has played and recorded with a variety of groups in Louisiana. This fall he embarks on a West Coast tour with his own trio, featuring Blake Miller of The Revelers and The Red Stick Ramblers on fiddle, and Billy Wilson, multi-instrumentalist and founder of MotorDude Zydeco, on guitar. Breaux has fond memories of playing at The Palms a number of times with BeauSoleil, and is excited to be back!
Grandson of well-known accordion builder Larry Miller, Blake Miller has been surrounded by Cajun music and culture his entire life. Hailing from the small town of Iota Louisiana, Miller, a fluent french speaker and songwriter, majored in Francophone studies from The University Of Louisiana at Lafayette. He founded the popular young Cajun band The Revelers and became a member of the premiere Louisiana roots band The Red Stick Ramblers.
Billy Wilson is a twenty-five-year veteran of the Bay Area Cajun and Zydeco music scene. He has performed with such noted Cajun and Zydeco musicians as Danny Poullard & the California Cajun Orchestra, Dewey Balfa, D.L. Menard, Marc Savoy, Michael Doucet, and John Delafose. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Billy plays bass, guitar, fiddle, ukulele, and steel guitar as well as piano accordion and button accordion. Billy formed MotorDude Zydeco in October 1989.
The dance floor will be open for this show.
